One in three women over 50 and one in six men will experience osteoporotic fractures. FRAX is an assessment tool used by doctors but can be usually used by anyone to input information that will let you know your risk of fracture over the course of the next 10 years. It may feel intimidating to know your risk, but if it spurs you to action you may be saving your future quality of like. The international osteoporosis foundation has many resources for prevention and diagnosis as well. Strength training is one of the recommended exercises for osteoporosis prevention. Total gym strength and conditioning class is a quick way to meet this recommendation. Our yoga instructors are also educated in how to modify poses for both osteoporosis and osteopenia.
