Wednesday, Feb. 17 from 6:00-7:30 PM
Do you experience hip pain even though you’re a runner in great shape? Have you wondered why your hips bother you just getting out of your car? Are you considering hip replacement surgery? Join us for a free event to educate people about this important joint.
Understanding the Hip takes place Wednesday, Feb. 17 from 6:00-7:30 PM at Creative Therapeutics. Participants will hear how the hip functions in daily life, learn how to stretch and strengthen the hips to prevent or recover from injury, and have the opportunity to ask questions in an informal, friendly environment.
“Some of our patients might come in with ‘back pain’ which is really hip pain,” explains Becky Rogers, clinic director. “Others present with knee problems that actually originate in their hips. We wanted to hold a series of panel events (called Connections) to discuss the relationships between these joints and share our knowledge as physical therapists who treat these kinds of issues all the time.” Physical therapists are experts in musculoskeletal movement and play a crucial role helping some people recover from injury or surgery to resume optimal physical function.
Yoga classes at CT will also focus on the hip in the weeks surrounding the event. Future Connections series events will include topics such as the knee, ankle, and back. This event is free and open to the public.
